Jiwa Barista Championship 2025: A Stage for Janji Jiwa Baristas to Grow, Create, and Move in Good Vibes

Jakarta, 17 November 2025 – Janji Jiwa through Jiwa Group proudly presents the Jiwa Barista Championship 2025, a national-scale internal competition designed to sharpen barista skills, express creativity, and strengthen passion within the world of coffee.

Carrying the theme “Move in Good Vibes,” this year’s competition evaluates more than brewing techniques and presentation. It also highlights character, consistency, and the ability to tell a story through every cup. JBC 2025 features two main categories: Jiwa Barista Championship and Jiwa Barista Innovation.

More than 100 baristas from various cities across Indonesia joined the Regional Elimination round. From this process, 12 semifinalists were selected to compete for the two major titles of the year.

The judging panel consisted of the QC, R&D, Roastery, and Learning & Development teams from Jiwa Group, supported by guest judge and mentor Yessylia Violin, the 2024 World Coffee in Good Spirits Champion and 2022 Indonesia Barista Champion.

According to Yessylia, Head Judge and Coffee Expert of Jiwa Group, the essence of the competition goes deeper than technique.
“Every cup carries a long journey that cannot be measured by skill alone. I want to see the barista behind the cup, how they carry themselves, express flavor, and stay honest with the story they want to share. Everything starts from a small step. If you never begin, you will never know how far curiosity and hard work can take you. Stay committed to what you believe is good, because that is where a barista’s character and soul truly grow,” she said.

In the Jiwa Barista Championship category, the title was awarded to Monica Christine Siagian from Janji Jiwa Metro Park Kedoya. Meanwhile, the Jiwa Barista Innovation winner was Vania Herningtias from Janji Jiwa North Land Ancol.
